Course reservation

1. Object

The purpose of these General Conditions of Sale (CGV) is to define the terms of sale of the services offered by PEP English, a brand of Proper Languages SA, concerning English courses for children and adolescents.

2. Acceptance of conditions

Registration for a course implies unreserved acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions. All customers acknowledge having read the General Terms and Conditions before registering.

3. Registration and prices

  • Registration: All registration must be made via our website or through our administrative offices. A deposit of CHF 200 is required upon registration, which covers registration fees and books and course materials. It is then deducted from the first invoice.

  • Prices: The current prices are those displayed on the website at the time of registration. Proper Languages SA reserves the right to modify prices at any time. However, services will be invoiced based on the rates in effect at the time the order is placed. A one-time registration fee of CHF 100 is charged to each student, which is valid for life and for all our courses. When registering for a course, a book and course material fee of CHF 100 is charged, except for very short intensive courses.

4. Payment

  • Terms: Payment of deposits can be made by credit card, bank transfer, Paypal or TWINT. Payment for courses is made by invoice. Private lessons can be paid for at the end of the month, per quarter, or per year (2% discount for paying for the year in one go). For group or semi-private lessons, billing is done quarterly or annually (2% discount for paying for the year in one go).

  • Due date: Payment must be made in full before the start of classes, unless specifically agreed with Proper Languages SA.

  • Late payment: In the event of late payment, Proper Languages SA reserves the right to suspend access to courses until full payment.

  • Sending invoices: Out of respect for our environment, invoices are sent by e-mail. Please give us the email address to which you would like to receive your invoices. Also remember to add our address finance@pepenglish.ch to your contacts to prevent invoices from arriving in your spam folder.

5. Cancellation and refund

  • Cancellation by the student: Any cancellation must be notified in writing. The reimbursement conditions are as follows:

  • Private lessons: Any cancellation must be notified at least 24 hours in advance by e-mail, during working days.

  • Group or semi-private lessons: No cancellations will be refunded. The course may, however, be moved if it is announced at least one week in advance and all the other students and the teacher agree to the change. The secretariat must be informed by email of the change request.

  • Cancellation by Proper Languages SA: In the event of cancellation of a course by us, whether in a group, semi-private or private setting, this course will be given by a replacement. If no replacement is available, the course will either be postponed or refunded.

6. Course progress

  • Location: Classes take place in our premises located in Geneva (Stand), Veyrier, Meyrin or online or at the student's home.

  • Schedules: Course schedules are set upon registration and can be modified in consultation with the parents and the student.

  • Absences: In the event of an unjustified absence, no refund or course postponement will be made. Absences justified by a medical certificate may result in a postponement.

7. Termination

Group courses: One month's notice before the end of a term is required in the event of termination of the contract, otherwise the courses invoiced for the next term must be paid in full.

Private lessons: One month's notice is required in the event of termination of the contract otherwise the lessons planned for the next month must be paid in full.

The contract may be terminated early in the event of force majeure. In this case, Proper Languages SA must be informed as quickly as possible and no later than fifteen working days following the event if the student wants to be able to obtain a refund of the courses. Proper Languages SA is authorized to request proof of the event.

​Proper Languages SA reserves the right to terminate the contract in the event of force majeure such as a lack of respect by the student/company towards another student/teacher or in the event of non-payment of lessons despite written/oral reminders.

8. Liability

Proper Languages SA undertakes to implement all necessary means to provide courses in the best conditions. However, it cannot be held liable in the event of force majeure or any event beyond its control disrupting the services.

9. Protection of personal data

The information collected during registration is necessary for order management and the organization of courses. In accordance with the “Informatique et Libertés” law, students have the right to access, modify and delete personal data concerning them. These rights can be exercised by contacting us at the following address: communication@pepenglish.ch .

10. Confidentiality and non-competition

Proper Languages SA undertakes to observe confidentiality relating to information which may be brought to its attention, respectively to the knowledge of teachers, within the framework of its relations with clients, but declines all liability in the event of fault. Clients are prohibited from hiring a teacher employed by Proper Languages SA for a period of 12 months following the end of the teacher's employment contract.

11. Intellectual property

All educational content provided by Proper Languages SA remains the exclusive property of Proper Languages SA. Any reproduction, representation, modification, publication, adaptation of all or part of the elements is prohibited without prior written permission.

12. Disputes

In the event of a dispute, the parties undertake to seek an amicable solution. Failing this, the dispute will be brought before the competent courts of Geneva.
